For many thousands of years, the Maya have cured what ails them with exotic jungle plants. On this tour, you’ll take a tour of hiking trails on the private, 17-acre property (nearly 7 ha) of stunning jungle in San Antonio, Belize. This is both a nature tour and an educational tour, where you’ll get to enjoy the scenery at a relaxed pace while you learn about plant medicine.

Your guide can tell you about the medicinal properties of the plants here, as well as the numerous maladies they address. According to Maya remedies, there are plants here that can cure stomach aches, fever, chicken pox, and allergies. Guides can also point out plants that ward of pesky botflies. At the end of the tour, you’ll have a much more complete idea of how such a large Maya community lived off the land.
