We leave at 9:00 am from the lagoon side for the exciting blue water of the reef and cayes. Your tour guide will take the snorkelers to explore one side of the island beaches while the divers embark on the first of their two dives. Snorkelers and divers lunch together on the beach with box lunches prepared fresh from our kitchen. If there is a group of over 10, we either have a beach BBQ, or oven baked BBQ prepared by our kitchen.

Attractions Visited
The main draw of the Gladden Spit and Silk Caye Marine Reserve is the opportunity to swim with whale sharks, who spend the months of March through June migrating through the reserve’s feeding grounds. Preying mostly on plankton and small fish, these gentle giants can reach lengths of up to 40 feet (12 m) and are the largest fish on the planet.

Laughing Bird Caye is a 1.4-acre (0.5-ha) deserted tropical island 12 miles (19 km) off the coast of Placencia. Surrounded by deep blue water on all sides, this miniature island is nothing more than palm trees, sandy beach, and a few picnic tables. The island is named for the Laughing Gull, a seabird that once lived on the island but has since migrated to other surrounding cayes that have less human disturbance.

Traveler Comments
Seeing the sea turtles was the highlight of my trip!
Truly enjoyed this tour. Amir was patient and kind for us beginners. A good jaunt around island to establish ability, then a more hardy swim out to reef for deeper reef action. Loved that we stopped for one last look at sharks, rays and turtles by the fisherman’s cleaning area. Interesting snorkel-mates. Well prepared and we felt safe at all times.
This was the best snorkeling ever!!!
