You will be Transfer from Your San Ignacio Hotel to the border of Guatemala and then on to TIKAL the Archaeological Site.
The Tikal National Park was created in 1956 and covers 222 square miles (575 sq. km) of primary tropical forest. A vast number of Mayan ruins fall under the protection of the park. Tikal is undoubtedly one of Guatemala’s most impressive sites.
While here, you’ll explore the park on foot. Photograph yourself beside Temple I, the most iconic of Tikal’s structures, or climb to the top of Temple II for views of the surrounding area. The trails that lead between ruins offer travelers good looks into the jungle—you might spot any number of birds as you make your way along these paths.
Your bilingual guide will teach you about the history, culture, and natural heritage of Tikal. Throughout the tour, you’ll visit the Q and R complexes, Great Plaza, Temples 1–4, the Central Acropolis, North Acropolis, and Lost World Complex.
After a day spent exploring the wonders of Tikal you will return to Flores around 3:30 PM.

Great tour breathtaking views and extremely interesting information provided
Tikal was an great excursion if you are interested in ruins. This is the site where Star Wars episode 4 was filmed. Lots to do and see here, you can climb most of the ruins to get a view from the top and it is worth it. Be prepared to clime about 500 stairs. The drive there and back is decent but nothing special. The way back they will stop and feed you some traditional Guatemalan food, it was delicious. Well worth the trip.
Completely enjoyed the day tour to Tikal, was a highlight of the vacation.
Similar things to do
Take this tour to see the site that the Maya called “Stone Woman.” You’ll reach Xunantunich via a ferry ride down the Mopan River, followed by a short hike through the jungle. Xunantunich spreads out over a couple of miles, but the central site is fairly compact.
This site has one of the most interesting collection temples of any Maya ruins in Belize. There’s the 130-foot tall El Castillo temple, which is one of the tallest buildings in the country. Visitors can climb to the top of it stepped facade to check out the incredible surrounding landscape.
